PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the oxidation of molten metal surface in a stoke at the molten metal discharge stage in a casting process and to execute the degassing of the molten metal in a holding furnace when the other process is executed, only by installing one of inert gas supplying pipe in the holding furnace. SOLUTION: In this low pressure casting apparatus, in which the stoke 30 is disposed as almost vertical state, and the lower end of this stoke 30 is dipped into the molten metal A in the holding furnace 20 and also, the upper end thereof is connected with a cavity in a mold 50, the inert gas supplying pipe 60 is set in the holding furnace 20 and this inert gas supplying pipe 60 can be moved in the interval between a position where bubble of this inert gas G discharged from the tip opening part thereof is invaded into the stoke 30, and a position where this bubble is not invaded.
