PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To implement both the preliminary hemming and the permanent hemming subsequent thereto in a short time with a simple structure and under simple movement. SOLUTION: The preliminary hemming is implemented to a hemming flange part F by elevating a door panel D on a lower die 4 together with a lifter table 5 by a stroke S1 in a condition where a preliminary hemming blade 17 supported by a slide frame 3 is positioned at a preliminary hemming position P1. After the lifter table 5 is once lowered, the slide frame 3 is advanced from the preliminary hemming slide position Q1 to the permanent hemming slide position Q2 by the stroke S2 to position a permanent hemming blade 18 in the permanent hemming position, and the permanent hemming is implemented to the hemming flange part F by elevating the lifter table 5 by the specified stroke.
