PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a tape capable of combining productivity with appearance and quality while preventing generation of gapping caused by flow of a pressure sensitive adhesive in an uncrosslinked state without deteriorating productivity by forming a pressure sensitive adhesive layer containing as essential ingredients an acrylic polymer bearing a carboxylic group and a crosslinking agent bearing a carbodiimide group on both sides of a substrate. SOLUTION: The compounding ratio of an acrylic polymer bearing a carboxylic group to a crosslinking agent bearing a carbodiimide group in a pressure sensitive adhesive layer is adjusted so that a molar ratio of the carbodiimide group to the carboxylic group is in the range of 0.001-0.14. A tackifier resin can be further incorporated in addition to the acrylic polymer and the crosslinking agent. The ratio of employed compounds is such that the molar ratio of the carbodiimide group to the total carboxylic groups in the acrylic polymer and in the tackifier resin is in the range of 0.003-0.14. The weight-average mol.wt. of the acrylic polymer is 300,000 to 1,000,000. The crosslinking agent is employed in an amount of 0.05-2 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the acrylic polymer.
