PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce cost by remarkably decreasing the number of parts and part machining and to accurately operate a limit switch by detecting the upper and lower limits of a chain block by simple detecting operation. SOLUTION: In this limit switch operating device for a chain block, an upper and lower limit switch of a chain block is operated by an operating body including a pair of side plates 8 provided below a chain block body 1 and fixed to a rotating shaft for operating a limit switch with a plate-like chain guide 11 clamped therebetween, a winding detecting operating plate 9 stretched between the respective one end upper parts of the side plates 8, and lowering detecting operating plates 10 mutually projected inward on the other end lower parts.
