PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a center PC of a remote maintenance service system of a FAX terminal that is connected via a public circuit by substituting temporarily a serial number as a registration reserve number and then inputting, registering and storing the facsimile information from a user to a center PC of a maintenance service center. SOLUTION: The information on a facsimile 112 that is to be maintained consists of a FAX name, a FAX telephone number and a serial number. When each information is known before a maintenance job is carried out at a user's destination, a FAX information setting processing part 105 inputs, registers and stores every setting item. When a maintenance engineer receives no serial number before his/her maintenance job, the engineer inputs a user's destination name and a registration reserve name that acts temporarily for the serial number. This input control is carried out at a system information setting part 106. When every setting item is inputted and registered, a main control part 101 stores these setting items.
