PURPOSE: To provide a method for joining a shaft with a small diameter to a thin hub with high strength and accuracy. CONSTITUTION: An outside-diameter part to be connected with an annular groove 31 at the outer periphery of a shaft 1 is forced in and engaged to the connection hole inside-diameter part at the center of a hub 2, an area near the hole of a hub end face is plastically deformed over the entire periphery, and the material of the hub is subjected to plastic flow, so that compression stress is given to the shaft for filling the recessed part of the shaft, thus obtaining connection force by the shear force and the tension force of the hub material.
