MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium which exhibits high C/N and has excellent traveling stability even when high density magnetic recording is executed. SOLUTION: A nonmagnetic layer containing nonmagnetic powder and a binder and a magnetic layer containing ferromagnetic powder and the binder are provided in this sequence on one surface of a nonmagnetic flexible supporting body. Average thickness of the magnetic layer is 0.01 to 0.3μm, total average thickness of the magnetic layer and the nonmagnetic layer is 0.1 to 1.0μm, number of projections having height of >=20 nm on a magnetic layer surface measured by AFM is <=100 piece per 30μm square and further PSD of the magnetic layer surface measured by AFM is <=0.2 nm2 at 1 to 5μm wavelength.
