An electronic thermometer enabling the user to confirm whether or not the values of the digits whose orders are lower than the digits displayed as the body temperature is adjusted within a predetermined adjustment range and to display all data to be displayed by using a display unit having less digits than all data. The thermometer is characterized by comprising temperature measuring means for generating a temperature measurement signal based on the temperature of an object, calculating means for calculating the temperature of the object in a predetermined number of calculation digits on the basis of the temperature measurement signal, display means for displaying the temperature calculated by the calculating means in a predetermined smaller number of display digits than the predetermined number of calculation digits, first display control means for displaying the temperature calculated by the calculating means, from the highest order digit of the temperature to the lowest order digit of the predetermined number of display digits which can be displayed, and second display control means for displaying the digits of the temperature which can not be displayed by the first display control means.
