A device for air improvement (especially a deodorizer) comprises a sheath (14) which is closed at both ends but which allows diffusion of a volatile deodorizing material (12) contained within it. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a method of making the device involving filling a sheath with material (12); and (2) a method of making the device by covering material (12) with flowable plastics material which is then solidified.
