PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the high output property of a motor for generating a steering auxiliary force, in a compact structure. SOLUTION: To an intermediate shaft 5 connected to an input shaft 3 rotated by the steering through a speed increasing mechanism 4, a pinion engaged to a rack is connected. The output shaft rotation of a motor 8 for generating a steering auxiliary force is transmitted to the intermediate shaft 5 through the speed increasing mechanism 4 from a speed reduction mechanism 9. By moving the rack by transmitting the rotation of the intermediate shaft 5 to the pinion, the steering angle of the vehicle is converted.
