PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable exact fat image extraction by specification of a simple CT-value range by converting a fat range specified using an ideal CT value to a fat range by an apparent CT value using a regression equation, and specifying an image which has a CT value belonging to the converted fat range. SOLUTION: A tomographic image is produced by a tomographic image producing unit 602, and is inputted into a water standard substance CT value measuring unit 604 and a fat standard substance CT value measuring unit 606, and the CT values of the water standard substance image and the fat standard substance image are measured. The measured values are inputted into a regression equation producing unit 608 to produce a regression equation which expresses the corresponding relation between the CT values of the water standard substance and the fat standard substance and the ideal CT values of both substance images. The regression equation is inputted into a fat range conversion unit 610. A fat range FR specified using an ideal CT value is converted to a fat range FR' expressed by an apparent CT value using the regression equation, and is inputted into a fat image specifying unit 612 to specify an image which has a CT value belonging to the fat range FR' in the tomographic image, namely, a fat image.
