PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refuse bag volume reducing device to compress a bag with the refuse stored therein in a safety and sanitary manner and reduce the volume of the bag, and to evacuate the air in the refuse bag to seal a mouth part. SOLUTION: A bulky stuff such as a packaging paper stored in a refuse bag 80 is compressed by an upper fixed table 30 and an elevating lower table 20 in a refuse bag volume reducing device, and the bulky stuff is squeezed in a safe and sanitary manner, and the air in the refuse bag 80 is evacuated to reduce the volume of the refuse bag 80. After the capacity of the refuse bag 80 reduced, a mouth part is sealed by a heater means 50, and the sealed refuse bag is free from malodor, and sanitary.
