PURPOSE: A variable power steering system is provided to make steering force variable according to speed of a vehicle and to reduce power loss of a pump and fuel consumption ratio of an engine by controlling torque to be transferred to an oil pump. CONSTITUTION: A variable power steering system includes an oil pump(10) making hydraulic pressure by taking driving force from an engine(20), a gearbox(14) distributing hydraulic pressure from the oil pump at a control valve formed within, an operating cylinder(16) by operating of an inner flow check piston supplied with hydraulic pressure distributed, and a driving force variable transferring device transferring power of the engine and oil pump to make the driving force variable according to speed of a vehicle. The driving force variable transferring device makes rotational driving force of the engine transferred in inverse proportion to speed of the engine. The driving force variable transferring shaft can vary hydraulic pressure and therefore the steering force is changeable.
