The cork trap consists of a handle for fitting against the bottle, with a trapping element at the top into which the cork flies when the bottle is opened. The handle may be elastic so that it acts as a damper. The trapping element may have a damper inside it to damp the impact of the cork flying into it, and a one-way restraint which will allow the cork in but prevent it falling out.
