ENGINE AUTOMATIC STOP/RESTART DEVICE FOR VEHICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent increase of battery power consumption accompanying repetition of a stop and slight movement of a vehicle during a traffic jam. SOLUTION: A vehicle includes a controller 32 having a function 33 automatically stopping an engine 31 at the time of a stop of the vehicle and restarting the engine 31 when press down of a brake is released. The controller 32 also has a function 34 deciding whether the vehicle is on a road during a traffic jam when stopping the vehicle, and a function 35 forbidding the automatic stop of the engine 31 when the vehicle is on the road during the traffic jam on the basis of the decision result.
