PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tree-climbing device for simply climbing on a standing pillar-like article such as a tree or a utility pole, especially a tree-climbing device which can be used even at such a narrow place as a place where a ladder can not be used. SOLUTION: This tree-climbing device for trimming branches comprises a support to whose lower end a fixing fork is attached and to whose upper end a collapse-preventing metal fitting is attached, and a lift which can vertically be moved along the support and is equipped with a pair of foot boards. The lift comprises the frame of the lift and the foot boards attached to the edges of the frame of the lift in outward projected states, respectively. The lift preferably comprises the frame of the lift, stays for holding the foot boards, and the foot boards which are attached onto the stays and comprise foot board main bodies, bands for fixing shoes, and holders, respectively.
