PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide measures against lighting surges by realizing thinness for a device without impairing quality. SOLUTION: This display device is comprised of a main body 7 (a liquid crystal panel 8, a liquid crystal display element 10 (pixel conversion/panel driver circuit), a backlight 9, a computer signal processing circuit 16, and a power source circuit 14 for driving them), a set base 5 (a tuner 3, a TV signal processing circuit 17), and an AC code B4 for connecting them. By supplying a commercial power source to the power source circuit 14 of the main body 7 via the set base 5, and returning lighting surge energy from the tuner 3 arranged in the set base 5 to an AC line A18 passing on the side of the set 5 via an electrode, it is possible to take sure measures against lightning surges, without impairing performances such as power source voltage drop without having to arrange a separate the power source circuit 14 for the set base 5.
