PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an inexpensive and high quality heat insulating material by storing bark crushed pieces of a Japanese cedar and a Japanese cypress into a ventilation storing container. SOLUTION: Bark crushed pieces 1a of a Japanese cedar and a Japanese cypress are internally fitted within a ventilation storing container 1b formed by nonwoven fabric such as felt and a building material 1 for heat insulation is formed. The building material 1 may be formed by internally fitting the bark crushed piece 1a within a nonwoven fabric net bag. The building material 1 may be formed by constituting an insulation board and a porous plate into a sandwich shape by a core and packing bark crushed piece 1a into the cavity part. It is desirable that incombustible chemical such as metal antimony, phosphoric acid ester, ammonium oxide and organic phosphorus/nitrogen based high molecule is evenly applied or impregnated to/into the bark crushed pieces 1a by 0.2 to 2.0 volume percent. As a result, a high quality building material for heat insulation can be formed.
