PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide fuel oil lubricity improvers which improve the lubricating properties of gas oil and are effective for preventing a fuel injection pump from being worn and, in addition, excel in low-temperature characteristics and oxidation stability. SOLUTION: Low sulfur content fuel oil lubricity improvers having a sulfur content of not more than 5 wt.% have, as the essential component, a polymer (A) having, as the constituting components, a vinyl type monomer (a1) which is selected from a (meth)acrylate, an olefin, a conjugated diene, a vinyl aromatic, a vinyl ester, and propenyl ether and whose homopolymer has a solubility parameter (SP value) of 8.0-9.5 and a vinyl type monomer (a2) whose homopolymer has a solubility parameter (SP value) of 9.8-20.0, said polymer having a solubility parameter (SP value) of 8.2-9.7, an HLB of 0.5-9.6, and a number average molecular weight of 500-200,000. |
