PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for recording capable of suppressing a cost of a thermal transfer recording material in the case of obtaining at least one printed product in the thermal transfer image formation by a thermal transfer recording using a laser beam and having excellent similarity to the product by a real printer. SOLUTION: Thermal transfer recording is conducted by bringing a transfer sheet 3 obtained by sequentially laminating a photothermal conversion layer containing a near infrared absorbing material and a binder resin as main bodies and a thermal transfer ink layer in this order on a base material into contact with a transfer medium 1 repeatedly used by opposing a thermal transfer ink layer 7 to the medium 1, laser exposing it, transferring the layer 7 to the medium 1 in an image-like state, and further retransferring the layer 7 to a material 11 to be transferred. Accordingly, in a conventional image receiving sheet, the thermal transfer ink layer has been transferred to the image receiving layer, then the receiving layer has been transferred to the material to be transferred, and the transferred and retained sheet has been discarded. However, a function of the image receiving sheet is incorporated in the medium which can be used repeatedly. |
