PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a label printer to surely peel a label from a mount in starting printing to drop a label peeling fraction defective. SOLUTION: The label printer comprises a printing head 11 to implement the printing on a label of a label paper, a feed rotating body 12 to move the label paper during the printing to pass the label 3 through a printing head, a first motor 13 to rotate the rotating body 12, a peeling body 14 to peel the printed label 3 from the mount, a winding rotating body 15 to move and wind the mount with the label 3 peeled therefrom, a second motor 16 to rotate the rotating body 15, and a control circuit to control the second motor 16 to rotate the winding rotating body 15 and wind the mount by the torque required for peeling the label 3 from the mount while the label paper is started by starting the rotation of the feed rotating body 12, the label is started to peel from the mount by the peeling body and moved for a specified distance.
