PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a document presentation to be easily read out in accordance with the shape of a display area. SOLUTION: Whether electronic document data are to be fixedly displayed (F96) or displayed so as to be switched or moved in each part like telops is set in accordance with the aspect ratio of a document display area (F94) and the display is executed (F95). In the case of displaying a horizontally written document e.g. the document is converted into telops and the telops are displayed so as to be switched or moved when the document display area is extremely oblong, so that a a document presentation to be easily observable (read out) by a user can be realized.
