PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of easily and surely enhancing the security of a computer. SOLUTION: The display device is provided with an electronic(E) key 13 including a storage means 17 in its inside, an attaching/detaching port 15 including an interface 21 in its inside and a control means 23 for writing the inherent information of the display device 1 in the storage means 17 of the E key 13 when the E key 13 is attached to the port 15 and security ON is instructed and shifting the mode of the device 1 to a previously determined security mode when the E key 13 is detached from the port 15 in a state that the security ON is instructed. Since the existence of the E key is detected and the device is shifted to the security mode, an operator can easily turn on/off the security by a sense of locking a key and then can easily utilize the security function.
