The connector includes a housing (2) adapted for insertion of electrical terminals. Locking devices are provided within the housing for locking each terminal. The housing is closed by a lid (5). A device holds the terminals in position and includes a locking body (8) which is inserted into the housing. The housing includes a number of transversal openings (8) for receiving the terminals and the coupling devices of the lid so that when the lid is coupled to the housing there is a separation between the lid and the housing. The cables can therefore pass out of the opposed ends (13) of the lid.
