The method involves feeding compensation sounds into an ear defender using headset loudspeakers (7). A reference or pilot sound is generated for monitoring the control path (4-7) as a control parameter for the compensating sound and is held substantially constant. An Independent claim is also included for an arrangement for implementing the method.
