A pneumatic tire, wherein auxiliary grooves (28) are formed in a flat part (26) to increase the edge component of the auxiliary groove (28) and increase a wettability by the water absorption action of the auxiliary groove (28), and the auxiliary groove (28) is disposed on the shorter diagonal line of the flat part (26) to divide the flat part (26) into two triangles near equilateral triangles and suppress, as far as possible, the lowering of the rigidity of the flat part (26) caused by the provision of the auxiliary groove (28), whereby the deformation of the flat part (26) can be suppressed, and a dry performance can be assured.
