The system for the protection of eyes against radiation and light glare has a location unit (3) which gives a continuous and dynamic identification of the position of at least one light source (11). A further unit (4) determines the position of the eyes (12) and/or the direction of vision. A transparent and flat screen carrier (5) is in front of the eyes (12), with a transparency which is varied locally and at times by screen spots (9) of a lower transparency which absorb or reflect light. A control unit (2) computes the geometric coordinate data for the lines (13) of the light from the light source (11) and the position and direction of the line of sight at the eyes (12), for the intersection (14) of the line of sight with the angle of light through the screen, to set the level of screen transparency accordingly.
