PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the belt width adjusting device of a carrying belt which can adjust the belt width of the carrying belt responding to the size of a sheet. SOLUTION: A belt width adjusting rod 46 is connected to tension pulleys 28(28A,28B), 29(29A,29B) giving the tension by winding a belt 31 of a lower high speed carrying belt means having plural belts 31(31A,31B) for carrying a sheet and moved in a sheet width direction while accompanying the belt 31 with tension pulleys 28,29 by the belt width adjusting rod 46. The belt width adjusting rod 46 is connected to the handles 56,58 provided outside the sheeter and can be operated from the outside.
