THERMOSETTING RESIN COMPOSITION HAVING LOW ENVIRONMENTAL HORMONAL PROPERTY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition capable of providing a cured product having low environmental hormonal properties and excellent in mechanical strength while retaining fundamental physical properties by combining a specific biscresol-fluorene type epoxy resin with a curing agent. SOLUTION: This composition comprises (A) a biscresol-fluorene type epoxy resin represented by formula I (preferably the one having 251-6,000 g/equivalent epoxy equivalent) and (B) a curing agent (preferably a polyamine or an acid anhydride) The component B is used in an amount of preferably 0.8-1.2 equivalents based on 1 equivalent of epoxy group in the component A. When the component B is used, a curing accelerator can be used in combination. (C) A nonphenol-based epoxy resin represented by formula II (R is a 2-20C alkyl, a 2-20C oxyalkyl or the like) in an amount of 0-30 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the component A is preferably formulated with the composition.
