PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a problem of secondary pollution that a polluted area is enlarged from occurring without providing a well or drawing pump. SOLUTION: In this method, on the outer periphery of polluted soil A, a water barrier wall such as a steel sheet pile is provided by striking it so that its lower end reaches a water impermeable layer B and also its upper end is higher than the ground level to form an outer boundary wall 1 for blocking the polluted soil, and within the outer boundary wall 1, a water barrier wall such as a steel sheet pile is provided by striking it so that its lower end reaches the lowermost part of the polluted soil and also its upper end is higher than the ground level to form an inner partition wall 2 for dividing an area surrounded by the outer boundary wall 1. Washing liquid C is fed to the one divided area, and the level of the washing liquid C is held higher than the ground level, and by the water head of the washing liquid C, a flow of the washing liquid C from one area to the other area is formed to recover the washing liquid C containing pollutant discharged to the ground level of the other area.
