PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the sufficient antimicrobial properties without large increase in inorganic antimicrobial agent accompanied by addition of organic silicon compound, in the production process for inorganic antimicrobial-added artificial marble, and in the marble products. SOLUTION: Inorganic antimicrobial-added artificial marble is produced by adding and dispersing an inorganic antimicrobial agent to the starting resin for the artificial marble, then an organic silicon compound is added to the starting resin to prepare the material, then the material is formed or molded to give the objective inorganic antimicrobial-added artificial marble. Thus, the surface of the inorganic antimicrobial agent is prevented from being coated with the organic silicon compound and the water repellency and the antimicrobial properties are exhibited without a large increase of the microbial agent. |
