<p>Compounds of formulas (a) and (b) wherein each symbol is as defined in the specification, pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof and pharmaceutical use thereof. The compounds are derivatives of cannabidiol and abnormal cannabidiol. The compounds and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof of the present invention selectively act on non CB1/nonCB2 receptors, particularly peripheral receptors to regulate vasodilation, do not cause psychoactive effects similar to Delta-9-tetrahydrocannibinol, and elicit antagonistic or agonistic physiological responses at reduced doses than the parent cannabidiol and abnormal cannabidiol compounds. Therefore, they are useful as pharmaceutical agents for the regulation of vasodilation, blood pressure and heart rate.</p> |
