PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new compound exhibiting highly intense affinity for melatonin receptors and selectivity to the subspecies of melatonin-agonistic receptors, and useful as a melatonic analogue. SOLUTION: This new compound is a compound of the formula A-G1-Cy-G2- Cy'-G3-B A is a group of formula I [Q is S or O; R1 and R2 are each H, a (substituted) 1-6C alkyl or the like] or the like; B is a group of formula II or the like; G1 and G3 are each a (substituted) 1-4C alkylenel; Cy and Cy' are each a cyclic structure of formula III [X and Y are each S O or the like; R4 is H, a halogen or the like; for formula IV, the bond is a single or double bond; G1 is a substitutable ring containing X and Y in the case of Cy; G3 is a substitutable ring containing X and Y in the case of Cy'] or the like; G2 is a group of formula V (W1 to W3 are each a bond, O, S or the like; n is 0-6; m is 0-6)}, e.g. N-(2- 7-[2-( 3-[2-(acetylamino)ethyl]-1-benzofuran-5-yl}oxy) ethoxy[-1-naphthyl}-ethyl)acetamide. The compound of the formula is obtained by using a compound of the formula A-G-Cy-OMe as starting material and carrying out various reactions.
