摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide light source devices having excellent monochromaticity and simple usability, and an endoscope system having the light source devices. SOLUTION: Light emitting elements 21 (light emitting diodes or laser diodes) capable of emitting the excitation light exciting the self-fluorescence of a living organism are used as light sources in the light source devices of an endoscope system for fluorescence observation. The light source devices 21 have a light emitting element fitting section 22 formed with a concave surface 22a, and many light emitting elements 21 are fixed on the concave surface 22a. The excitation light emitted from the light emitting elements 21 is directed to the incidence plane J of the light guide fiber bundle 15b of the fiber scope of the endoscope system. All the excitation light enters the incidence plane J within the opening angle of the light guide fiber bundle 15b. The light guide fiber bundle 15b can guide a sufficient quantity of the excitation light having excellent monochromaticity.
