PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin composition for moistureproof paper having moistureproofness at least equivalent to those of conventional polyolefin- laminated papers and good in disaggregativeness, blocking resistance and foldability. SOLUTION: This resin composition is obtained by incorporating 0.5-50 pts.wt., on a solid basis, of a wax emulsion in 100 wt.%, on a solid basis, of a latex which is prepared by emulsion polymerization of a radical-polymerizable monomer composition comprising (A) 20-80 wt.% of an aromatic vinyl-based monomer, (B) 20-80 wt.% of a (meth)acrylic ester monomer, (C) 0.5-5 wt.% of an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer, (D) 0.1-2 wt.% of an amido group-contg. vinyl-based monomer and (E) 0.1-2 wt.% of a crosslinkable vinyl- based monomer.
