PURPOSE: A back holder for an automobile is provided to prevent an injury of a passenger in case of sudden braking and the personal belongings from being separated. CONSTITUTION: A back holder for an automobile includes a fixed plate(10) having a protrusion part(11) and a fixing hole(12) in the center and supporting holes(14,14') at one side; a rack member(20) and a separation preventing member(30) having supporting parts(21,31) at one side and supporting holes(22,32) in the supporting parts for supporting the inside of the supporting parts with a pin(23) and a coil spring(24) wound on the supporting hole of the pin supported by the supporting parts, and having stepped pulleys(25,35) for being lodged with each other; and a stopper mechanism(40) having a projection(44) formed in the supporting part of the rack member and a protrusion(42) formed in the front end of an elastic piece(41) formed in the fixed plate for preventing the rack member from being automatically opened.
