PURPOSE: An information management system using dual-tone multiple frequency is provided to manage all information such as customer information, kinds and prices of products at a low cost in medium and small chain stores. CONSTITUTION: An input device(15) is formed with a card reading machine(11) reading customer information, a bar code reading machine(12) reading kinds and prices of products, and a key operating part(13) for inputting various information. The first controller(16) controls a terminal(10) to read all kinds of information input from the card reading machine(11), the bar code reading machine(12), and the key operating part(13), automatically telephones to transmit the information, and is connected with each output terminal of the input device(15). A memory(21) incorporating a program for controlling the terminal(10), a function control part(17) for giving the functions such as initialization of a system and self-test, and a display part(14) displaying all kinds of information to be input to the input device(15) are connected to the first controller(16). A DTMF modulator(18) modulating the information of the input device(15) into dual-tone multiple frequency signal, and a DTMF demodulator(19) demodulating the information into dual-tone multiple frequency signal are connected with the input and output terminal of the first controller(16). A communication interface(20) controlled by the first controller(16) and transmitting information through telephone lines(L1,L2), is connected with the other side of the DTMF modulator(18) and the DTMF demodulator(19).
