PURPOSE: A drive method of PDP(Plasma Display Panel) is provided to apply a relative higher discharge voltage to only lines of corresponding common electrode group within respective sub field, thereby increasing the contrast of a screen. CONSTITUTION: The drive method of PDP comprises a step causing a (p + k x j)th(j is integer equal to or greater than 0) common electrode lines(Xn) to be included in a pth(p is integer greater than 0) common electrode group in order to distribute n common electrode lines into k(k is integer greater than 1) common electrode groups. Then, a unit frame to be displayed is equally divided into k sub fields. Finally, a relative higher discharge voltage is applied to the lines of the p-th common electrode group in a pth sub field, thereby erasing the wall charges generated in pixels within a (p-1)th sub field and generating uniform wall charges.
