PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cathode-ray tube and a cathode-ray tube device capable of displaying a high resolution image with both large and small currents sufficiently functioning as a multimedia display device. SOLUTION: In this device, three cathodes 11 arranged inline, a control electrode 12, an accelerating electrode 13, a focusing electrode 14 and a final accelerating electrode 15 are sequentially disposed. An additional electrode 16 served as a prefocus lens adjusting means is disposed between the accelerating electrode 13 and the focusing electrode 14 and is applied with a voltage different in large or small beam current supplied from a prefocus lens adjusting circuit means 17.
