<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure a low minimum fixing temperature, a wide offsetting temperature range, good fixing characteristics, superior electrostatic chargeability and good image characteristics by incorporating a specified negative charge type charge controlling agent and an ethylene-propylene copolymer having a specified melting point as toner components. SOLUTION: The nonmagnetic one-component toner contains at least a polyester resin, a colorant, a charge controlling agent comprising a metal-containing salicylic acid compound or a metal-containing alkyl salicylic acid compound and an ethylene-propylene copolymer having 125-145 deg.C melting point. The metal in the metal-containing salicylic compound or metal-containing alkyl salicylic acid compound which imparts negative chargeability is preferably selected from Cr, Zn and Al, and in the case of a full-color toner, the metal is preferably Al or Zn. The molecular weight of the ethylene-propylene copolymer is usually in the range of 2,000-30,000 and the amount of the copolymer is preferably 0.05-10 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. polyester resin.</p> |
