PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To embody recording and reproducing with high reliability by making it possible to suppress the low-frequency components of a recording signal by a modulation system intrinsically not having a DC free characteristic and to remove the low-frequency components on which many noises are superposed without losing the information components on the reproduction side. SOLUTION: This information recording and reproducing system consists of previously preparing plural kinds varying in the odd and even numbers of polarity judging times as patterns for resynchronizing signals 116 included at every specified interval in the recording signal and selecting and using the patterns in such a manner that the low-frequency components thereof are made smaller according to the patterns of the recording data 112. The low-frequency components are cut by a filter 105 at the time of reproduction of the information.
