PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the picture quality by eliminating the occurrence of an unexposed area formed on a photographic printing paper. SOLUTION: In consideration of such effect that the incident angle of light made incident on an LCS(liquid crystal shutter) 11 is changed in accordance with a change of the width (a) of the light exit surface 13a in an X-X' direction of a light guide 13, and the light beams emitted from different positions on the light exit surface 13a are made incident on each pixel 11a of the LCS 11 from different directions, then, the width (a) is set so that an area B which must be unexposed may be irradiated with the light. In this case, there is a danger that uneven stripes are generated due to the low-developed color at a boundary between exposed areas A only by setting the width (a) so that the exposed areas A may be adjacently formed on the photographic printing paper 7, then, the width (a) is set so that the adjacent exposed areas A may be formed in an overlapped state.
