<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain the sudden action of an engine valve when the valve opens and closes and also let and engine display its engine performance according to the running state by variably controlling the valve lift of the engine valve. SOLUTION: This engine valve is provided with electromagnets 31 and 32 for a switch valve opening and closing an intake valve 23 through an armature 30 slidably held on a cylinder head 21 through a valve lifter 27, and springs 28 and 33 holding the intake valve 23 at the neutral position of an opening and closing stroke position, on the opening side and closing side. The valve lift of the intake valve is variably controlled by swingably interposing a transfer cam 43 having first and second cam faces 45 and 46 in a vertical direction between a lever member 48 and a valve lifter 27 and tiltingly supporting the lever member 48, at the lower section of the guide rod 38 fixed to the armature 30, and changing the position where the lever member 48 abuts on the second cam faces 45 and 46 by controlling the rotation position of an eccentric cam 43 by means of a step motor, etc.</p> |
