A lifting system for removing and installing equipment on aircraft. The lifting system comprises a base (100) and a lifting assembly (200) supported by the base. The lifting system includes outriggers (140) and at least one offset outrigger (150), which are connected to the base to provide additional stability. The lifting assembly includes a boom (201-204) having telescoping sections, a lifting arm (205) and a 2 speed winch assembly (250, 257) for controlling lifting cables. The boom is telescoped using chains (200, 222, 224) which are fitted with an end block (213) which activates a pawl arrangement (215, 216) to prevent stretch. The assembly is provided with an inclinometer (310) and a device (265, 271) to reduce cable tangle. |
