The invention relates to an ignition cable for internal combustion engines, comprising an electrical conductor disposed therein and an external insulation. According to the invention, the conductor is interrupted in a separation point. An approximately sleeve-shaped metal body is disposed surrounding said separation point at a distance from the conductor. The insulation of the ignition cable is interrupted on both sides and at a distance from the metal body, whereby a supplementary electrically conductive cable extends between said interruptions. The supplementary cable extends in the form of a spiral around the insulation and is electrically insulated in relation to the metal body.
