Compensation system for prostheses e.g. arm and leg prostheses

The compensation system comprises a stable shaft (1) with an inner sleeve made from a flexible material gripping the stump. An inflatable air cushion has a one way valve (41) and pump with a bellows (4), and fits the inner area of the stump between the shaft and the sleeve. The pump has an outlet valve (42), and is operated from outside the prosthesis and the bellows exceeds the outer surface of the shaft. The pump/valve system is a unit soldered or stuck on one side of the air chamber (5) and is fixed to the shaft on the other side by means of a catch or adhesive connection.
