The steam boiler (1) has a combustion chamber (3) and several heat-exchanger packs (5). The steam boiler consists of a front (2) and back (4)tower containing the combustion chamber and heat-exchanger packs respectively, with at least one super-heater stage (6). The two towers are joined at their bottom end by a horizontal body. The flow direction (14) in the steam boiler is from the front tower,, from top to bottom, via the body (13) and to the rear body from the bottom upwards.
