civil engineering. SUBSTANCE: pipe coupling is intended for protection of underground metal pipelines against corrosion. Insulating pipe coupling consists of coupling and branch pipe connected to each other. Thread on coupling and on branch pipe is made so that, when screwing together, space is formed along the entire surface of part connection. Provision for thread overlapping prevents disturbance of connection is case of axial force application. Space is filled with reinforced dielectric polymeric material characterized by high adhesion to both coupling and branch pipe. Given material provides for electric separation. At the same time it takes up mechanical loads and seals connection. To enhance strength and corrosion- resistance of connection, polymeric coating reinforced by fabric may be applied on surface of coupling and branch pipe. For connection with pipeline insulating pipe coupling is provided with short cylindrical thread from side of coupling and wit long thread, from branch pipe side. Constructional and connecting sizes of insulating pipe coupling correspond to those of similar standard pipe coupling according to State Standard †šÐÊ 8969-75.
