PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent generation of phase difference in glass of a polarizing plate with glass even when the plate is irradiated with intense light and to obtain a polarizing plate having excellent light resistance by adhering a polarizing plate to glass having a specified absolute value of the average coefficient of linear expansion or smaller. SOLUTION: A polarizing plate is adhered to glass having an absolute value of <=10×10-7/ deg.C of the average coefft. of linear expansion. For example, a polarizing plate 101 is adhered with an adhesive to the whole or most of the region on one surface of a glass sheet 102. Or, polarizing plates 103, 104 are adhered with an adhesive to 1 to 3 faces of a prism 105. Or, a polarizing plate 106 is adhered with an adhesive to the flat face of a planoconvex lens 107. As for the polarizing plate to be used, a laminated body prepared by adsorbing and dispersing a polarizing element such as boron and dichronic dye in a stretched film such as PVA as the base body and laminating transparent supporting films such as TAC on the both surfaces of the film can be easily used. From the viewpoint of the light resistance, a film using a dichroic dye as the polarizing element is preferable. |
