PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition excellent in resistance to loss of shape by dissolution, improved in surface gloss and having a feeling of use close to that of soap by including an N-acyl acidic amino acid type surfactant, a specific alkyl or alkenyl ethercarboxylic acid type surfactant, etc., in a specified proportion. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by including (A) 50-90 wt.% of one or more kinds of N-acyl acidic amino acid type surfactants (e.g. a sodium N-mixed fatty acid glutamate), (B) 10-30 wt.% of one or more kinds of alkyl or alkenyl ethercarboxylic acid type surfactants represented by the formula [R1 is a 6-22C alkyl or a 6-22C alkenyl which can be substituted by one or more OHs; EO is oxyethylene; PO is oxypropylene; n and m are each 0-5; (m+n)>1; M3 is H, an alkali(ne earth) metal or the like] and (C) 3-15 wt.% of purified water. A lauryl ethercarboxylic acid, etc., made from lauryl alcohol as a raw material are used as the component B.
